Music is always considered as a therapy for relaxing our brain, a mode of refreshing ourselves. But how many of you know that there is a day dedicated to it. Yes, June 21 is the world music day and whole world celebrates it in their own way. Every walk of the life has their own taste of music-jazz, Indian, fast, slow, sufi, instrumental and many more.




Here we will be telling about the importance and origin of this day. The day also known as Fête de la Musique was originated in France and was first organized in Paris on June 21, 1982.

The day is celebrated over 130 countries. In 1981, Minister of Culture of France Jack Lang had appointed Maurice Fleuret as Director of Music and Dance. They planned to bring out musicians on the streets to spread awareness about the music. And from then June 21, 1982, the first Fête de la Musique was organized in Paris.
