The solar eclipse will take place on June 21 this year, i.e. the longest day and the shortest night of the year. This year people in some parts will be able to see a 'Ring of Fire'. However, people can enjoy the lunar eclipse with the naked eye but it is advised to never see a solar eclipse with naked eyes.


Timing: In India, the solar eclipse will appear at 9:15 am and will end at 3:03 pm. The partial eclipse will begin at 9:15 am while the full eclipse will end at 2:02 pm and the phenomenon will end at 3:04 pm.

Visibility: The solar eclipse will be visible in Congo, South Sudan, Ethiopia, Yemen, Oman, Saudi Arabia, the Indian Ocean and Pakistan, Rajasthan, Tibet, China, Taiwan.

Interesting facts: When Sun, Moon and Earth are in a straight line and the Moon comes between the Sun and Earth, it is known as solar eclipse. There are three types of solar eclipses-- Total, Partial and Annular.
