Out Of Love Season 1 set high expectations as it turned out to be one of the most gripping web shows of 2019. Last night, the final episode of Season 2 aired, and I would say Team Out Of Love brought the curtain down in an absolutely applaud-worthy manner, however with a few loopholes.
Season 2 started on a high note, Akarsh and Aalia's return in Meera's life, things going upside down for Meera and her close friends- all set the tempo right. However, I would not deny that it did get a bit off-track midway, lost its pace, things did get repetitive in a few episodes but thankfully, the essence of the show remained intact.
While Season 1 focussed on how Meera uncovered Akarsh's extra-marital affair, Season 2 emphasised on the effect of Meera and Akarsh's soured and troubled relationship on their son, Abhi. How both of them try to outdo each other in order to win their son, and in the bargain end up severely hurting him.
What's noteworthy is how complex relationships have been depicted simply and performed on-screen even more beautifully. The last episode does get a bit dramatic but the end of the show more than makes up for it. The conversations between Meera and Akarsh, their show downs and face-offs, all are shot realistically.
There are a few tracks, shown in the first two episodes, which die a natural death by the end of the show, for instance the equation between Meera and Rohan (Abhi's music teacher who she got romantically close to). That plot got a bit jumbled and eventually that character did not contribute in any way to the show. Though the makers did give a sweet ending to that relationship too, yet it felt half-baked.
Overall, Season 2 of Out Of Love may not come across as gripping and engaging as Season 1 coz of its plot but it does make for a perfect sequel and gives a wholesome ending to the show. I will say it is definitely bingeworthy and rate it 3.5 stars.
