Love, Scandal & Doctors (LSD) came as a tough 'pill' to swallow. You can't blame me, the last murder mystery I watched on ZEE5 was Bang Bang, and that certainly didn't go down well. My expectation from this show was not much as I am very convinced by now that ZEE5 and AltBalaji need to up their game when it comes to this genre. After Bang Bang, LSD is another bummer on the OTT platform.

The web series also marks the digital debut of famous choreographer, Punit J Pathak, who plays the role of a witty and cheeky cop in the show. Talking about the plot, well, it is surely twisted and layered. It begins with 5 interns at a famous hospital trying to cover a crime they have committed together- a murder of a patient. It then dives into various other sub-plots of love, lust, revenge, sexual orientations, friendship, hatred and more. How these 5 interns find themselves entangled in the investigation and how they come out of it. Who's betraying whom in the group and finally who is the real killer!

I would not say that the plot was not interesting. The story had meat and if presented in a crisp and logical manner, it would have turned out to be a decent murder mystery. However, the directors who worked on the show (yes there were more than one) lost the grip and as a result it seemed all scattered and unnecessarily long (It has 15 episodes, which could have easily been cut to 10 episodes). And, in spite of so many episodes, there was no character building for any of the actors. A word of caution- the first few episodes will test your patience, they really do!

Punit is almost there, yet not there. His depiction of the sarcastic and witty cop is a relief in the otherwise 'what's happening here!' series, but surely he has a lot more potential than this. Out of the five interns- Sara (Tanaya Sachdeva), Rahima (Srishti Rindani), Vikramjeet (Siddharth Menon), Kabir (Ayush Shrivastav) and Kartik Rana (Ishaan A Khanna), only Siddharth Menon seemed a bit promising to me. There was also Rahul Dev in the show, who plays the dean Dr. Rana and he delivered what was expected of him.

Overall, this LSD, just like the real one, is hazardous to health! The story was engaging but the presentation was awful and that's why I'd suggest skipping this one. It's blahworthy and I'll give it just 2 stars.
