One of the most awaited Indian Netflix originals in recent time is Drive. The film is produced by Karan Johar and directed by Tarun Mansukhani who earlier directed popular Bollywood film, Dostana. The film looks like a cat and mouse chase between a gang of robbers – Jacqueline Fernandez, Sushant Singh Rajput, Vikramjeet Virk and Sapna Pabbi – and two cops – Boman Irani and Pankaj Tripathi. Here’s the trailer to the film.
Drive, the first collaboration between Netflix and Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions, has already grabbed a lot of eyeballs. In true Bollywood style, the trailer plays out and gives us quite a lot of information about the film. A group of robbers plan to execute a super ambitious heist – they plan to rob the Rashtrapati Bhavan. Their MO? They escape in super fast racing cars much to the dismay of the cops who are trailing them.
At first glance, Drive reminds us of popular Bollywood film franchise, Dhoom and to compare it to another Netflix show, Money Heist. The trailer is full of action, suspense, fast cars and could be called the most Bollywood-ish Netflix original, which is not a surprise since it comes from Karan Johar.
Another thing that stands out in the trailer is the sizzling chemistry between Jacqueline Fernandez and Sushant Singh Rajput. They truly look great together and make for very sexy robbers! Glimpses of Pankaj Tripathi and Boman Irani in the trailer also make it special – it will be especially exciting to see Tripathi in such a role.
The only disappointing bit of the trailer is the visual effects though. For a film named Drive which is essentially about fast cars, the visual effects could have been way better. Apart from that, we can’t wait and see what journey Drive will take us on.
Drive will be available for streaming on Netflix on 1st November.
