Zee5 and AltBalaji have been churning out content in various genres and their recent one seems to be coming from a rather untouched zone of sibling love. Crashh, starring Rohan Mehra, Aditi Sharma, Kunj Anand, Zain Imam and Anushka Sen deals with loss and hope of reuniting with the loved ones. But did the emotions touch deep down? Not for me.
Good things first and there is just one in this case. I would give a thumbs up for Crashh's plot. 4 siblings separate in a car accident and when they grow up, the eldest one takes the responsibility to find his lost brother and sisters. How destiny brings them together yet keeps them unaware of their real identities. However, was this concept implemented perfectly in the web series? Absolutely not!
There were a lot of things which went the other side in this series. Firstly, I would like to tell the makers that adding old Hindi classic songs in the background every 2 minutes, won't awaken viewers' emotions! It needs strong writing, a hard-hitting presentation and moving moments- all 3 were missing here.
The most annoying part of the series was its end, which was highly abrupt. It gives way to Season 2 but the twist in the last episode seemed extremely out of place and forced, like a bumpy speed breaker on a smooth road.
Performances were very average. Rohan Mehra may have a strong fan-following but he couldn't do justice to his character. He plays a driver with dreams of becoming a dancer, living in a chawl with his parents, sister and her husband- very Ranveer Singh like from Gully Boy but nowhere close. Amongst the rest of the siblings- only Anushka Sen aka Aalia manages to impress at a few places.
Overall, Crashh is definitely not extraordinary but because of its plot, it could have turned out to be a decent sibling love drama. Unfortunately it didn't. So, I'd say give it a skip, it's blahworthy and gets only 2 stars from me.
