The Viral Fever’s
Yeh Meri Family, written by Saurabh Khanna and directed by Sameer Saxena, is a
story about a family of 5 living in Jaipur, Rajasthan. The story, set in 1998,
is narrated through the point of view of one of the children and the ups and
downs the family experiences.
First things
first, the casting of the show is on-point. Vishesh Bansal who essays the role
of Harshal Gupta is perfect. His character is constantly bickering, whining and
complaining. His acting chops make you feel for the character. Mona Singh as
the irritable mother (Poorva Gupta) shines. While the story may slow down in
parts, it’s difficult to look away because the show’s heart is in the right
place.
Plus, the
production team has done an excellent job in bringing the nostalgia of the ’90s
back – the walkmans, posters, newspapers, magazines and film cameras among
others successfully take you down memory lane. Our verdict – Bingeworthy!
