It was long due that I watched an interesting thriller and Voot select's latest show, 13 Mussoorie solved my problem. Shriya Pilgaonkar and Viraf Patel as Aditi and Rishi leave you on the edge with their whodunnit.

The story, as the title suggests, is based in Mussoorie where Aditi Bisht, who is the daughter of a renowned police officer of the city, Ajay Bisht, is living a happy life with her husband Rishi, also a police officer. First episode sets the tempo right with a killing by a serial killer called AKS- the case is being investigated by Ajay Bisht. It then jumps 4 years later, where we are told that Bisht could not solve the case and has ended up on a wheelchair after an accident but there has been no killing post his car crash. He soon loses his life.

From here starts the whodunnit drama, when AKS returns to haunt Aditi, her family and friends. There are murders one after the other and AKS keeps dragging Aditi in all of them. How she solves the case, what she loses in the bargain and what is the connection between AKS and Aditi is what 13 mussoorie is all about.

There are about 13 episodes in the series and I was quite glued to it till the 10th episode. There were a lot of twists and turns and every time I thought I guessed who the killer is, I was proven wrong, which is what kept the momentum going. The last three episodes got a bit draggy and I feel the show could have got wrapped in 11 episodes in a much crisper way.

Abhijit Das, the director of the series has treated the show with intelligence. He gives out clues, leads you to a suspect yet does not reveal much in order for you to guess who the real culprit is. Every character looks like a suspect and that's quite applaud-worthy for a director making a thriller. The story was quite engaging and it had a pacy screenplay too.

Talk about the performances, well, Shriya Pilgaonkar proves it that she has it in her genes. She is a natural and has played her character extremely well. Viraf Patel as Rishi complements the show and has a strong screen presence. Even the supporting cast has delivered well and holds your attention in every frame.

Overall, 13 Mussoorie is a good watch for those who like watching whodunnits. As I said earlier, a good thriller was long due and that's why I would rate it 3.5 stars and say it's Bingeworthy.
