Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s debut web series Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar has been renewed for a second season. While discussions surrounding the same have been taking place, fans have also been heaping praises on the actors who shined because of their performances. Having essayed the role of a British officer Alastair Cartwright, actor Jason Shah became a household name. He has now opened up about the challenges he faces while working on the sets of the Netflix series.
Shah added that he thought since he was a villain on the show, he was supposed to be disconnected from everybody. He said, “I started thinking, I am the villain (on the show), so maybe they want the villain to be angry and disconnected from everybody. But me being connected to a human being on set never really boils over to my character onscreen. I felt a little bit out of place in some places, but I guess you keep on going with the flow of things and pick it up from wherever.”
Released on May 1, 2024, Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar is Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s first web series. Currently streaming on Netflix, the show stars an ensemble cast of Sonakshi Sinha, Richa Chadha, Manisha Koirala, Aditi Rao Hydari, Sanjeeda Sheikh, Sharmin Segal, Taha Shah Badussha, Fardeen Khan, Indresh Malik, Shekhar Suman, Adhyayan Suman, and many others in pivotal roles. The show has been renewed by Netflix for another season. The filmmaker will reportedly start working on it after the release of Love And War.
