Web-series Tandav is creating a lot of noise on social media but for all the wrong reasons. The makers of the show are in legal trouble as many FIRs have been lodged against the show for allegedly hurting the religious sentiments of the audience. An FIR was lodged against the director of the show Ali Abbas Zafar and others in Uttar Pradesh, and yesterday, the UP Police reached Mumbai to carry out the investigation. As per the latest update, Ali Abbas Zafar has been served with a notice.

As reported by the news agency ANI, UP Police today reached Ali Abbas Zafar's residence in Mumbai to serve him with a notice. A tweet made by the news agency read, " team of Uttar Pradesh Police arrives at the residence of the director of web series #Tandav, Ali Abbas Zafar to serve him notice." Further it was revealed that nobody was present at Ali Abbas Zafar's residence and hence the police pasted the notice on his door.

"We have served notice asking him to appear before IO (Investigation Officer) on 27th January in Lucknow. His house was locked and nobody was there, so we pasted the notice there: Anil Kumar Singh, Uttar Pradesh Police," read another tweet made by ANI.

In connection to the controversy, Ali Abbas Zafar and team Tandav had extended an unconditional apology via social media and also shared that they are willing to change the controversial scenes. "We have the utmost respect for the sentiments of the people of our country. We did not intend to hurt or offend the sentiments of any individual, caste, community, race, religion or religious beliefs or insult or outrage any instituion, political party or person, living or dead. The cast & crew of Tandav have made the decision to implement changes to the web series to address the concerns raised towards the same," read a note posted by Ali on social media.
