Tandav starring Saif Ali Khan, Dimple Kapadia, Sunil Grover, Kritika Kamra, Gauahar Khan and others recently released on Amazon Prime. The political drama managed to create quite a buzz on social media. However, the web series is now amidst controversy. An FIR has been filed against makers of the series for allegedly hurting religious sentiments. A complaint has been filed against director Ali Abbas Zafar,  Producer Himanshu Krishna Mehra, Writer Gaurav Solanki, Amazon India Content Head Aparna Purohit and others in Hazratganj police station of Lucknow.

Complainant named Amar Nath Yadav, who is a Senior Sub-Inspector, stated in the complaint that there are several hate comments on social media post the release of the show. "After watching the series, it was found that in the 17th minute of the first episode, characters playing Hindu gods and goddesses have been shown in an uncharitable way and using objectionable language, which can incite religious tension. Similarly, in the 22nd minute of the same episode, efforts have been made to ignite caste clashes with casteist remarks. The person holding a dignified post like that of Prime Minister has been shown in a very derogatory manner in the web series," read an excerpt from the FIR as reported by The Indian Express.

Further, there are reports suggesting that the Information and Broadcasting Ministry has sought a response from Amazon Prime after the web series received backlash from several political leaders. As reported by ANI, if makers fail to give proper response to all the allegations, action will be taken.  (Also Read: Tandav: Saif Ali Khan In Trouble Again (And This Time He Didn't Do Anything)
