Web- series and OTT platforms are quite a rage these days. One of the most popular espionage thrillers on the digital platforms is Special Ops- starring Kay Kay Menon, Sana Khaan, Karan Tacker in significant roles. The Hotstar series has been created by Neeraj Pandey, and has received much appreciation from Bollywood biggies like Hrithik Roshan and Shatrughan Sinha. We, at SpotboyE, got in touch with Karan Tacker, who plays the role of RAW Agent Farooq Ali, and asked him about his experience shooting for Special Ops and what it feels like having received critical acclaim for his performance.
Speaking about all the praise for the show by Hrithik and Shatrughan Sinha, Karan Tacker said, “When people you look up to, appreciate the work that you are doing, it’s a very blessed feeling. I didn’t expect this; as an actor, you just read the script and realize that you’re going to enjoy playing this. It’s only much later that you realize ‘people are gonna watch this’. I never expect this kind of appreciation but it’s a great feeling. I am also acting after a while so it’s reassuring and validating.”
Karan Tacker further opened up about a challenging suicide scene where he had to face his fear of heights. Karan shot for a scene that required him to stand on the ledge of the terrace of a 25-storied building. He said, “I was on the edge of the terrace, it’s on the 25th floor, you’re hanging by one string- the harness. You’re literally two inches from falling 25 floors straight down, so it’s like coming face to face with my fears. I remember I came down and got overwhelmed and teary-eyed.”
Karan Tacker revealed that when he read the script, he was so intrigued he couldn’t put it down. “It is Neeraj Pandey and the script was amazing. I had no reason to think twice before accepting the role. While I was reading the script I read it back to back, couldn’t put it down because I was so intrigued what’s gonna happen next.”
