Rensil D'Silva On The Second Season Of 24 Series: 'It Depends Totally On Anil Kapoor Sir'- EXCLUSIVE

Series 24 is an action thriller which aired on Colors TV, based on the American series of the same name. It was written by Rensil D'Silva, Bhavani Iyer, directed by Abhinay Deo and produced by Ramesh Deo Productions.

Rensil D'Silva made his directorial debut in 2009 with Dharma Productions' Kurbaan, which starred Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan. He also wrote Karan Johar's Student of the Year starring Alia Bhatt, Sidharth Malhotra, and Varun Dhawan. He is also known for Anil Kapoor's television series 24. The director's recent release was Dial 100 which starred Manoj Bajpayee, Neena Gupta, and Sakdhi Tanvar. 

The television series 24 had two seasons which aired on 4 October and 9 July respectively. Both the seasons were received well by the audiences. Recently when SpotboyE got an opportunity to talk to the director, he revealed some details about the third season of series 24. When asked about the Season 3 of the show, Rensil said, "Nothing as of now, I mean it depends totally in Anil sir’s hand when he wants. But as of now no nothing."



Despite the fact that 24 was a Bollywood adaptation of the American series with a dash of melodrama thrown in, it managed to hold the audience's attention. Lead actor Anil Kapoor was seen in the series doing action sequences like a pro. The show was most likely the first time an Indian audience saw a political thriller drama on television.

The director also shared some fascinating insights about his other show Dongri to Dubai, which is adapted from Hussain Zaidi’s book, the show revolves around the underworld don and captures the story of his early life and his gang. He said, "Well I have written the show and that will be directed by Shujaat Saudagar. We are planning to start shooting soon.  It had completely stalled because of the pandemic." The web series, led by Avinash Tiwari also features Amyra Dastur and is produced by Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani.


Director Rensil D'Silva began his career as an advertising creative director 20 years ago, has co-written screenplays for films such as Aks, Rang De Basanti, Thambi, and Ungli.
