The teaser of Janhvi Kapoor’s Gunjan Saxena - The Kargil Girl was dropped yesterday and received love from all over. Janhvi will be seen essaying the role of Indian Air Force combat pilot Gunjan Saxena. She was the first Indian female airforce pilot in combat in Kargil in 1999. The real Kargil Girl, herself, took to her social media to share her feelings on the teaser that had the montage of her pictures along with the voice-over of Janhvi. Sharing the poster of the film she penned a long post reminiscing the time she began sharing experiences with the director Sharan Sharma and Janhvi for the movie.
Gunjan mentioned in her post the early days when the filmmaker had begun putting pieces together to showcase her life on the celluloid. Also, she praises the director for his sincerity and compassion towards this project. Further sharing how she feels being the lucky one as her story is being narrated by Sharan and ace actress Janhvi onscreen. She wrote, “Very rarely have old memories flashed in front of me in such a sweet manner as was experienced after watching my montage with voice over of Janhvi. I guess it is the time for the culmination of an enriching journey which started with Sharan Sharma three years back. And what a journey it has been with Sharan. I have always admired his honesty, sincerity and sensitive compassion while portraying my life on a big screen. Everybody at my age has a story to tell. Lucky few like me have Sharan and Janhvi to narrate my story.”
Adding further she also pens how everyone’s life has their own set of hardships and struggles but still manage to achieve our goals. “None of life journeys are a walk in the park and mine was no different. But at times a one-track mind on goal does help,” she pens further.
On the concluding note, she wrote, “During my tenure in IAF, whatever little I could achieve was with the help of men and women in a blue uniform. I sincerely hope everyone will enjoy the movie not because it is my story but more so because of the honest work of Sharan and his team.”
