The OTT video streaming industry has been booming in India, and of late, some really amazing films and series have released on OTT platforms. Netflix recently unveiled the teaser of their upcoming anthology ‘Ray’ and it is an anthology based on Satyajit Ray’s short stories. The anthology has a stellar star cast which includes Manoj Bajpayee, Gajraj Rao, Ali Fazal, Shweta Basu Prasad, Anindita Bose, Kay Kay Menon, Bidita Bag, Dibyendu Bhattacharya, Harshvarrdhan Kapoor, Radhika Madan, Chandan Roy Sanyal, Akansha Ranjan Kapoor.
The teaser gives a glimpse of the stories of the anthology, and the cast of each short film. The description on Netflix’s YouTube channel describes Ray as, “Some of the best directors come together to create an epic anthology as an ode to one of the greatest storytellers of all time - Satyajit Ray.” Ray is directed by filmmakers Srijit Mukherji, Abhishek Chaubey and Vasan Bala. The teaser first shows the story ‘Forget Me Not’ which stars Ali Fazal and Shweta Basu Prasad. It is directed by Srijit Mukherji. ‘Bahrupiya’ stars Kay Kay Menon and Bidita Bag, while Hungama Hai Kyon Barpa stars Manoj Bajpayee and Gajraj Rao. Harshvardhan Kapoor will be seen in ‘Spotlight’, and is directed by Vasan Bala.
Netflix India shared the teaser and captioned it as, "Great actors, amazing directors and unique stories from a legendary writer! BRB, pinching ourselves to see if this is actually real #Ray, premieres June 25!" Take a look at the teaser below:
Ray is all set to premiere on Netflix on June 25. It was among one of the 40 other projects that were announced by Netflix earlier this year. Other films and shows included Taapsee Pannu and Vikrant Massey starrer Haseen Dilruba, season 2 of shows such as Masaba Masaba, Delhi Crime, and others.
