The short film Shimmy to be streamed on Amazon miniTV from September 17 brings Pratik Gandhi and his wife actress Bhamini Oza together on screen for the first time. And Pratik, who seems to be seen everywhere these days, just can’t get over his excitement.
Says the Scam actor, “Shimmy is a short film and it explores a new age father - daughter relationship. It is written by Jai Mehta and Disha Rindani and Directed by Disha. What makes it really special for me is that me and my wife Bhamini will be seen on screen together in this so I am excited. We have done theatre together but mainstream onscreen for the first time.”
Shimmy is about a particularly hard day in the life of a young girl (played by Chahat Tewani) and her father (played by Pratik Gandhi) who can’t quite understand what’s troubling her. The film also stars Bhamini Oza Gandhi in a pivotal role.
It is written and directed by Disha Noyonika Rindani, an upcoming talent who has previously co-written A Death in the Gunj and directed an award winning short documentary based on Indian Rapper Naezy called ‘Bombay 70’. Shimmy is produced by Guneet Monga and Achin Jain, the power duo whose banner Sikhya Entertainment has churned out remarkable titles like Pagglait, The Lunchbox and Masaan .
