Despite enthralling a major chunk of the audience, Anushka Sharma’s production venture Paatal Lok has still mired itself with numerous controversies. The controversies surrounding the OTT show, Paatal Lok doesn't seem to stop anytime soon, in fact, the controversies are only increasing, and here’s another one that has recently been reported by an online portal Koimoi. As per the latest report here, Paatal Lok is again in trouble as Anushka Sharma and Amazon Prime Videos got a notice from the Punjab and Haryana High Court on a petition saying the web series had defamed the Sikh community.

The notice was issued to the Union of India and 15 other respondents by the bench of Justice Arun Kumar Tyagi. The petitioner has objections to episode number three of Paatal Lok as the scene in episode 3 has been shot in a village in Punjab. “The respondents have purposely and maliciously within the intent of creating communal disharmony and caste-based clashes have shown two communities in a bad light,” said petitioner-advocate Gurdeepinder Singh Dhillon. Earlier, the show fell into a legal mess because of the casteist slur used in the series against the Nepali community.

Viren Sri Gurung, a member of Lawyers Guild informed Quint, "There is a clip wherein during an interrogation a lady police officer uses a casteist slur on a Nepali character. There wouldn’t have been any problem had only ‘Nepali’ been used. But the word that follows it is unacceptable.”

Just recently, an MLA from BJP, Nandkishor Gurjar had filed a complaint against the actress for using his picture in the show, without his consent. The politician had written a letter to Minister of Information and Broadcasting Prakash Javadekar, demanding a ban on the show. ALSO READ: BJP MLA Urges Virat Kohli To Divorce Paatal Lok Producer Anushka Sharma, 'Woh Desh Bhakt Hai, Anushka Ko Talak De Dena Chahiye'
