For quite sometime now, Saif Ali Khan, Sarah Jane Dias, Dimple Kapadia, Gauahar Khan starrer Tandav has been grabbing headlines for all the controversial reasons. Several Reportedly, FIRs have been filed against the makers of the show for allegedly hurting the religious sentiments of the viewers. Now, another series has been embroiled in legal trouble and that is Pankaj Tripathi, Ali Fazal and Divyendu Sharmaa starrer Mirzapur 2.
Mirzapur 2 was released in the lockdown gained immense appreciation and viewership. According to the latest report in Hindustan Times, the series got into legal trouble as the show received a notice from the Supreme Court after a petition was filed by the residents of Uttar Pradesh citing the series shows the state in the bad light. Reportedly, the city of Mirzapur has been shown as a den of terror and illegal activities, SK Kumar petitioned. That’s not it, the petition also talks about the abusive language and illicit scenes as well.
Talking about the language in Mirzapur 2, Pankaj Tripathi who plays the role of Gangster mafia Kaleen Bhaiyaa said that it is not the only way to get noticed.
He told SpotboyE.com, “Filthy language is not the only way to get noticed. If you noticed, among all the characters in Mirzapur my character Kaleen Bhaiyya uttered the least number of gaalis. This is not to say I am distancing myself from the content. I stand by my projects no matter how they are received. But let me tell, I am changing my strategy as an actor now. I am no longer playing aggressive violent characters for some time. No gangster character and crime thrillers in 2021.”
