Devoleena Bhattacharjee Hits Back At Payal Malik's Comment On Her Interfaith Marriage, Says 'My Husband Is Not Interested In Polygamy'

Devoleena Bhattacharjee recently addressed comments made by Armaan Malik's first wife, Payal Malik, regarding her interfaith marriage. In a detailed response posted on social media, Devoleena emphasized her husband, Shanawaz Shaikh’s loyalty and dismissed any interest in polygamy on his part. In her Instagram story, Devoleena wrote, "A person needs a higher level of knowledge to compare interfaith marriage with polygamy, which I am sure intelligent people are quite aware of. It's not only my right, but every Indian's right to stand against illegal acts like polygamy, which some proudly flaunt on national television. It’s a matter of individual fate." She added, "Just don't make a mockery of the lives of those poor women who suffer daily because of this nonsense and die a little each day. Do whatever you want inside your home, have 2, 4, or 5 marriages, but don't spread this disease in society. Every word I said, I mean, and still stand by it. It's not new for people to make YouTube content about me. Please, do the honor." Devoleena further elaborated, "Even though my husband is Muslim, he is loyal to his wife and has no interest in polygamy. We took four years to understand each other before getting married, not just seven days. A woman's self-respect shouldn't be compromised, but I understand you can't comprehend this. I honestly feel pity for you. But I guess that's how you wanted your marriage to be after seeing this. Everything could be YouTube content for you guys, but not for me. So, carry on. Signing off," she concluded. Earlier, Payal had told Instant Bollywood, "Firstly, see how much you were criticized after you got married. You also faced trolls when you married a Muslim man. I just want to say, when we did not say anything about your life, it is not right for you to comment on our relationship."
