CONFIRMED: Dhanush's Karnan To Have Its Digital Release On May 14 On Amazon Prime Video

Karnan which released across theatres on April 9 this year was a box office success. Starring Dhanush the film is directed by Mari Selvaraj and is set to release on the OTT platform soon.

Karnan which was initially released in theaters was well received by the audience and the critics making the film a blockbuster. It was among the last films to release on the big screen with 50% occupancy.  The film focuses on caste discrimination and Dhanush's performance as a rebel, who refuses to let his caste define his fate was loved and won the audience, he was lauded for his performance in the film. Karnan also marked the actor’s first collaboration with Mari Selvaraj. Now after a successful run at the Box office, the makers have officially announced the digital premiere of the film.

Excited about the release of his film on a digital platform writer-director Mari said, “A strong storyline coupled with Dhanush’s incredible acting prowess, I knew the film had the potential to be a hit with fans." He further adds, " Amazon Prime Video with its wider reach allows audiences to watch any film, anytime, anywhere, and that’s the beauty of a video streaming service. I am so excited that the film is getting its digital debut on Amazon Prime Video starting 14th May.”

Dhanush's next Tamil release Jagame Thandiram too will have a digital release. Though the actor wanted the film to first release in the theaters just like Karnan, the makers of Jagame Thandiram decided otherwise.  This reportedly has upset the actor, who was looking forward to a big-screen release.  On the other hand, the actor has completed the shoot of Atrangi Re along with Sara Ali Khan and Akshay Kumar. He also has a Hollywood release The Gray Man, which he is currently shooting in the US; he will star alongside Ryan Gosling and Chris Evans

Karnan is produced by Kalaipuli S Thanu’s V Creations, and it also stars Lal, Yogi Babu, Azhagam Perumal, Natarajan Subramaniam, Rajisha Vijayan, Gouri G Kishan, and Lakshmi Priya Chandramouli in pivotal roles.
