August Releases: Here’s Your Binge List For The Month

With a whole lot of new shows awaiting us in August, it’s going to be a great binge month. Here’s what we’re looking forward to

It has been a great 2019 so far when it comes to content. We’ve had shows like Made in Heaven, Typewriter make their mark in India as well as some popular international shows like Game of Thrones, Big Little Lies and Stranger come up with new seasons. It’s no surprise that August promises to be a big month when it comes to releases too. With Independence Day and a possible long weekend around the corner, it’s time to get binging! Here’s what you can look forward to in August.

1. This is Football – 2nd August on Amazon Prime Video



Football fans, listen up. We all know that this magic sport casts a binding spell on its fans. This six part series aims to explore the stories, passions, people behind the making of the world’s favourite sport. If we are to go by the trailer, fans all across the world are in for a treat with this one.

2. Patriot Act with Hasan Minhaj (Season 4) – 4th August on Netflix



If you enjoy stand-up comedy and political satire and haven’t watched Patriot Act, you are in for a treat. Ace comedian, Hasan Minhaj’s show is both a comic relief as well as a general knowledge show. It manages this feat effortlessly. With the latest season making its way soon, it’s time to catch up on this gem of a show. Pro tip: they also release exclusive clips on their Youtube channel if you are a fan.

3. Sacred Games (Season 2) – 15th August on Netflix



This Independence Day promises to be a really special one. Our favourite Netflix show, Sacred Games makes a much-awaited comeback for what promises to be a bigger and better Season 2. The stakes are higher, there are exciting new characters and we can’t wait to feast on this one!

4. Mindhunter (Season 2) – 16th August on Netflix 

Although we don’t have a trailer yet, Netflix and director David Fincher have both confirmed that one of the finest crime shows, Mindhunter is back for a second season on 16th August. The show explores the psychology of serial killers and Season 2 reportedly delves into the story of Charles Manson, one of the most notorious serial killers ever. 

5. Carnival Row – 30th August on Amazon Prime Video



While we don’t know too much about Amazon Prime Video’s latest show, we can tell it will be a treat. It seems like a fantasy series set in the Victorian era with creatures who remind us of Fantastic Beasts. It also stars Orlando Bloom in a lead role. Fantasy fans, don’t miss out!
