We know Akansha Ranjan Kapoor as diva Alia Bhatt’s bestie, the two often post pictures on the social networking site, setting friendship goals. With Alia already setting her foot in the industry and delivering some remarkable performances, her bestie too followed the suit by marking her debut in the entertainment world via a digital route. The model and Alia’s bestie was recently seen in digital film, Guilty on Netflix which also starred Kiara Advani, Gurfateh Singh Pirzada.
Though having close connections in the tinsel town, the actress shared of only bagging a role in this digital outing via audition. In conversation with Hindustan Times, she revealed of auditioning for the project without knowing much about the film, besides it being a digital film. The entire process from auditioning to locking down her for this flick happened merely 13 days unlike films, which takes month or even more than that. Post the audition she was called for a meeting and that’s how she landed in the film.
She was quoted saying by HT, “I auditioned for the film without knowing much about the project other than the fact that it was a digital film. Once I got shortlisted, they asked me to come for a meeting and then told me that I was locked. I had to wait for only 13 days as against any other film where you need to wait for a month or so.”
The actress also revealed of auditioning for the first ever time for Lekar Hum Deewana Dil. Also Akansha feels currently budding actors are in happy phase as industry has opened to all. “It’s such a great time to be an actor. Nobody cares about how pretty you are or the kind of body type that you have. What matters is if you are a good actor. The Dangal (2016) girls (Fatima Sana Shaikh and Sanya Malhotra) are doing so well. If you are good performer, you’ll be respected for your work and you’ll eventually get more work,” she added.
