AK VS AK: IAF Calls Out The Makers Over Inaccurate Donning Of The Uniform By Anil Kapoor; Demand Withdrawal Of Scenes Over 'Inappropriate Language' Used

For the past few days, Anurag Kashyap and Anil Kapoor have been ruling the headlines. The two engaged in a war of words of sorts on social media. It turned out to be a publicity gimmick for their upcoming venture AK vs AK that will release on Netflix. The promo of the same was recently released and it showed Anil Kapoor dressed in a uniform of Indian Air Force. The video shows Anil Kapoor slamming Anurag Kashyap left, right and centre whilst even making use of cuss words. This has not gone down well with IAF.

Taking to Twitter, IAF demanded that the scenes be withdrawn asap. As per the tweet, firstly, Anil Kapoor has donned the IAF uniform inaccurately. And secondly, the language and behaviour demonstrated in the promo does not conform with the behaviourial attributes of men in uniform, stated IAF. The tweet read, "The IAF uniform in this video is inaccurately donned & the language used is inappropriate. This does not conform to the behavioural norms of those in the Armed Forces of India. The related scenes need to be withdrawn. @NetflixIndia @anuragkashyap72 #AkvsAk."

AK vs AK is directed by Vikramaditya Motwane. The makers are yet to respond to IAF's demand of withdrawing the video.


Talking about the venture, in one of the previous interviews, the director had said, "There is a writer friend of mine Abhinav Sampat from Amsterdam. He sent me this concept seven years ago. It’s been made since, like all my films. It is his idea, it is brilliant and we had a lot of fun developing it until now."
