Fans of star Zac Efron were worried, after the news of the actor taking severely ill had hit the internet; the actor was reported to be having a near death experience as per The Sunday Telegraph. The actor while shooting for a documentary in Papua New Guinea was reported to have contracted with some severe form of infection. The Disney star showed symptoms of some form of typhoid or some similar form of bacterial infection that left him ill.
This happened just few days before Christmas; post he developed this severe infection he was rushed to Australia for treatment in Brisbane. The reports further stated of a team of doctors deployed on the flight which flew the actor to the hospital. He was admitted to St Andrews War Memorial Hospital. The actor was kept under observation for several days before he was given an all clearance from the said hospital. Later he flew back to the States for the holiday season. As per reports in The Hollywood Reporter, the actor contracted his severe infection when he was shooting in the eastern zone of the world for the docu series titled, Killing Zac Efron.

In a statement, the actor was heard saying, “I tend to thrive under extreme circumstances and seek out opportunities that challenge me on every level. I am excited to explore any uncharted territory and discover what unexpected adventures await.”
