Hollywood lovebirds, Tom Holland and Zenyada have been decorating the headlines ever since they visited India. From being warmly greeted with various names to being used as a promotional campaign for Kerala tourism, it was nothing short of an entertaining weekend for all the desis. If that wasn’t enough, a Twitter user - Tom Holland was mistakenly tagged as the Hollywood actor in a slew of tweets about the Marvel actor’s India visit for the NMACC gala.
It soon turned out to be a case of mistaken identity on Saturday as author Tom Holland found himself tagged on Twitter filled with Indian fans sharing photos and tagging him for the Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre (NMACC) gala.
Tom Holland, who is popularly known for his role as the Spider-Man in the Marvel universe, arrived in Mumbai on Friday with his girlfriend and co-star Zendaya to attend the grand opening of NMACC.
While the actor hasn’t verified himself on Twitter, the author is, and he grew tired of being tagged instead of the actor.
The author reshared a photograph of Salman Khan, Shah Rukh Khan and Nita Ambani posing with Tom and Zendaya from a fan account and pleaded the Twitter to stop tagging him. "Please make it stop."
One Twitter user wrote to him, "I am wheezing as I type this, but sincere apologies on behalf of my fellow countrymen, Mr Holland." The author replied, "It seems like I have the whole of India in my timeline!"
Meanwhile, composer Vishal Dadlani also tweeted, "Pretty sure you guys discussed Stonehenge and that SRK (Shah Rukh Khan) has insights on it, that you heard here first! You have my sympathy, ‘Spidey’! Love to ‘Jhendya (Zendaya)’. (laughing face emojis).”
Author Tom’s appeal to the Indian fans sparked jokes and puns about the Spider-Man films and Roman history, as Tom is the author of several award-winning books about the same.
In another tweet about Tom and Zendaya’s departure from the country, the author hilariously tweeted "Phew," as the attention would hopefully slip away from him after this.
Actor Tom Holland has 66.9 million followers on Instagram and 7.2 million on Twitter.
