Hollywood superstar Tom Cruise surely loves India. He shot a considerable part of Mission: Impossible-Ghost Protocol in India - in addition with the crime caper featuring Bollywood star Anil Kapoor in a very important role. He is also said to harbour great affinity and love for Indian food.
Tom Cruise spent two hours at Asha's at 12-22 Newhall Street, in Birmingham, England on Saturday night, August 21, while taking a break from shooting Mission: Impossible 7. If you have lived under a rock for all these years, Asha Bhosle is one of the most revered and celebrated Indian singers of all time, and her songs are listened to not just in the country, but across the world.
A report published in BirminghamLive says Asha's general manager Nouman Farooqui was delighted when Cruise loved his chicken tikka masala so much that he ordered a second portion. "The restaurant was only told hours before that Tom - who has been spotted several times in the Grand Central shopping centre recently - was going to be coming in," the report added.
The best part of the visit was when Tom Cruise arrived at 6 pm along with five others and a security detail, he insisted he should not be treated differently to anybody else, the report said.
The legendary singer on Monday took to Instagram to share she was elated to have the Hollywood star Tom Cruise at her fine dining restaurant. She also shared a picture of the Mission: Impossible star outside her restaurant, Asha's. "I was very happy to hear that Mr Tom Cruise enjoyed his fine dining experience at Asha's (Birmingham) and I look forward to him visiting us again soon," she captioned the photo.
The singer also posted a link of a news site BirminghamLive, which reported that Tom visited the restaurant on August 21.
On the work front, Tom Cruise will next be seen in Top Gun: Maverick, a sequel to his acclaimed 1986 action drama Top Gun.
