Singer Aaron Carter was found dead in his California home on Saturday. He was 34 years old. The singer-rapper was the younger brother of the Backstreet Boys’ Nick Carter. The late star had started his career in showbiz at the tender age of nine and had given multiple hit albums in his teen years.
According to E! News, officials at the LA Sheriff’s Department responded to a 911 emergency call from the late singer’s house on Saturday at around 11 in the morning. The call stated that a male was found unresponsive in his bathtub. If reports are to be believed, shortly after their and the fire departments’ arrival, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
The news of Aaron’s death has taken a huge toll on his friends and fans. Many have taken to social media to mourn him and remember him. His ex-girlfriend and former Lizzie McGuire co-star Hilary Duff also took to Instagram to share an emotional note. Expressing that her teenage self loved him deeply, she wrote, "For Aaron – I’m deeply sorry that life was so hard for you and that you had to struggle in-front of the whole world. You had a charm that was absolutely effervescent… boy did my teenage self love you deeply. Sending love to your family at this time. Rest easy."
Fans reacted to her post by taking to her comments section to express their sadness and lend support for losing someone she was close with. They also reminisced about their favourite episode of Lizzie McGuire, starring Hilary and Aaron.
For the unversed, he was one of the stars from the 90s who was dearly loved by his fans. As he grew older, he faced a number of struggles, from wrestling with addiction to checking into rehab several times and filing a bankruptcy petition in 2013 over millions of dollars of debt. Aaron was just a month shy of turning 35. His son Prince will be turning one year old in two weeks.
