American singer-actress Selena Gomez made a big confession during her interaction with Elle magazine. In the September issue for the said magazine she opened up about struggles she faced due to the mental health and the relief she experienced after being diagnosed with bipolar disorder. The singer felt a massive weight came off after she discovered about it. Gomez said, “I felt a huge weight lifted off me when I found out. I could take a deep breath and go, ‘Okay, that explains so much.'”
Selena Gomez & the Scene: Kiss & Tell singer continues, “There were all things that honestly should have taken me down. Every time I went through something, I was like, ‘What else? What else am I going to have to deal with?'” It was in 2014 when the actress was detected with lupus, followed by which she underwent surgery. The singer had a kidney transplant and also took chemotherapy sessions. Singer shared in those painful days she kept on telling herself that she will help people.
“You’re going to help people.’ [That is] really what kept me going,” said Selena. Keeping away from social media helped the singer lessen her anxiety. She adds “I’m like, ‘I’ve got to do something [more]. After I’m gone, I want people to remember me for my heart. This tiny little phone that had 150 million people on it — I just put it down. That was such a relief for me.”
