Hollywood veteran actor Henry Silva who is known for playing gangsters in many films passed away at the age of 95. He left for his heavenly abode on September 14, 2022, due to natural causes at the Motion Picture and Television Country House and Hospital in Woodland Hills in California, as informed by his son Scott Silva. He was an amazing actor and his death has left a void in the hearts of millions.
Henry Silva is known for his incredible performances in two films- 1960’s Ocean's Eleven, the Las Vegas heist film alongside Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jr, and other 'Rat Pack' members. And another film The Manchurian Candidate in 1962 based on the Cold War. Dean Martin’s daughter Deana Martin expressed her grief through a social media post. She took to her Twitter handle and wrote, “Our hearts are broken at the loss of our dear friend Henry Silva, one of the nicest, kindest and most talented men I've had the pleasure of calling my friend. He was the last surviving star of the original Oceans 11 Movie. We love you Henry, you will be missed.”

Even American actor Matthew Modine paid condolence and wrote, “Blessings to the family of Henry Silva. What a life and career. Thank you to the Motion Picture & Television Fund (#MPTF) home and it’s staff who lovingly care for retired actors @MPT #RIP #HenrySilva”. Anson Mount even expressed his grief and wrote, “What a phenomenal actor. I’ll never forget one of his earliest performances in “The Tall T”. The perfect combination of innocence and evil. Tremendous, stand-out talent from the beginning to the end. #HenrySilva.”
Henry Silva was born in Brooklyn on September 15, 1928 and grew up in Spanish Harlem. He dropped out of school at the age of 13 in 1940 and started taking acting classes. To support himself he worked as a dishwasher in a Manhattan hotel and even worked as a weaver. In 1955 he was accepted at Actors Studio and his fellow students included Shelley Winters and Ben Gazzara.
Silva made his debut in the film Elia Kazan's 1952 with Viva Zapata! alongside Marlon Brando, and his television debut on "Armstrong Circle Theatre" in 1950. Silva married twice in the 1950s. The late actor is survived by his two sons, Michael and Scott.
