Forbes’ lists are something that everyone looks forward to each year to see who’s topping the charts in making money. Forbes’ annual list recently came out and Modern Family actress Sofia Vergara topped the list of the highest-paid female actors, having made 43 million dollars in the one-year period, which when converted to Indian rupees, is approximately equivalent to Rs. 315 crores. The list also includes other actresses such as Angelina Jolie, Gal Gadot, among others; however, there is no Indian on the list.
According to Forbes, most of Sofia Vergara’s earning is from her appearance on the show Modern Family and being a judge on America’s Got Talent where she got almost got paid 10 million dollars for the whole season. Endorsements are a part of her total earning. She makes about 500000 dollars per episode of Modern Family, all of which, when added, takes her last year’s earning to 43 million dollars. That is huge!
Second on the list is Angelina Jolie who owes her majority of 35.5 million dollars yearly earning to an appearance in the upcoming Marvel’s Eternals. Other actresses that made it to the top 10 are Gal Gadot (31 million dollars), Melissa McCarthy (25 million dollars), Meryl Streep (24 million dollars), Emily Blunt (22.5 million dollars), Nicole Kidman (22 million dollars), Ellen Pompeo (19 million dollars), Elisabeth Moss (16 million dollars) and Viola Davis (15.5 million dollars).
Meanwhile, Dwayne Johnson topped the male list, with earnings of 87.5 million dollars. Akshay Kumar made it to the list of the highest-paid actors, and was the only Indian to have made it on either list.
