Hollywood actor Fred Willard, who brought laughter to small and big screens, passed away at the age of 86 on May 15. According to a report in Los Angeles Times , Fred died of natural causes on Friday in Los Angeles. Fred is better known for his roles in shows like Modern Family, Everybody Loves Raymond, Best in Show among others. Fans will remember the actor for the influence he had in comedy.
Fred Willard’s daughter Hope Mulbarger released a statement after her father died and said, “My father passed away very peacefully last night at the fantastic age of 86 years old. He kept moving, working and making us happy until the very end. We loved him so very much! We will miss him forever.”
Soon after the news broke, Twitter is flooded with condolences messages. Ben Stiller paid condolences on Twitter and wrote, “Fred Willard was a brilliant comic actor and improvisor. He could make anything funny. His work goes down as some of the funniest ever, From Jerry Hubbard on...he inspired and influenced so many people in comedy. Sending love to his family.” Ben lost his father, Jerry Stiller, just last week.
While Jamie Lee Curtis Tweeted, “How lucky that we all got to enjoy Fred Willard’s gifts. He is with his missed Mary now. Thanks for the deep belly laughs Mr. Willard. Best in Show (7/11) Movie CLIP - Judging the Hounds (2000) HD” Modern Family casting director Jeff Greenberg wrote, “So so sad. Fred guested on Modern Family as Ty Burrell‘s father throughout our entire 11 year run & was a joy each and every time. A prince and a gentleman. He was beloved by all. #RIP”
