Due to the current situation across the world, many big events with mass gathering have been shelved or postponed to maintain social distancing. The annual event that sees celebrities unite dressed in their best designer outfits at The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York was scheduled to happen on the first Monday of May but was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. As many Hollywood biggies missed attending the Met Gala 2020, pregnant singer Katy Perry recently took to her social media to share a glimpse with fans of how she had planned to honour Madonna’s cone bra look from the 90s.
As the Met Gala 2020 was scheduled to happen on Monday, Katy Perry shared a picture of the ensemble she’d planned to be dressed in for the big event. Sharing a picture of her fabulous outfit, Katy wrote, “What would have been… #TheMetBall2020 (broken-hearted emoji).” While the singer expressed her grief of not attending the Met Ball 2020, Katy who is expecting her first child with fiancé Orlando Bloom shared the picture of her outfit on a mannequin.
From the picture, one could tell that Katy Perry had planned to wear the two-piece Jean Paul Gaultier pink ribbed bra with a matching bump cover for the Met Ball 2020. As Katy shared her look, one couldn’t help but miss out the fact that the singer was planning to honour Madonna’s cone bra look through her corset which drew similarities to an ensemble that Gaultier created for Madonna for her 1990 Blonde Ambition tour.
