The death of African American man named George Floyd has led to a massive outcry and furore worldwide. With nationwide protests in the US, many black cricketers and others have been voicing out their opinions demanding equality in their fight against racism. As many people have been voicing out experiences they faced, Meghan Markle’s BFF Jessica Mulroney gets fired from her reality TV show after problematic behaviour with a black fashion influencer. This happened after the black influencer shared a video on her social media talking about it.
Meghan Markle’s bestie Jessica Mulroney lost her big TV job after the allegations of ‘very problematic behaviour and antics’ were made at her by a Black Canadian fashion influencer Sasha Exeter. Jessica who hosted CTV's reality show I Do, Redo was fired soon after Sasha posted the video on her Instagram accusing Mulroney of sending her a threat in writing. According to a report in Hollywood Life, a statement released by CTV’s parent company Bell Media read, “Bell Media and CTV encourages our entire team including on-air talent to practice respect, inclusivity and allyship as we pledge to work better and more openly to listen to and amplify black voices, and not minimize them.”
The statement further continued, “Because recent conduct by one of our shows hosts, Jessica Mulroney, conflicts with our commitment to diversity and equality, CTV has removed I Do Redo from all Bell Media channels and platforms effective immediately.” Talking about the video shared by Sasha, the black influencer shared how she had a ‘Amy Cooper’ experience with Jessica Mulroney. She referred to the White woman in New York’s Central Park who threatened a black bird watcher that she would call the police after he asked her to leash her dog. Listen to what Sasha has to say below:
After the Black influencer Sasha Exeter shared her experience with Jessica, the TV show host also apologized to her on social media. Jessica Mulroney took to the comments section of the post that Sasha made and responded with an apology. Meghan Markle’s best friend’s exit from her TV show comes even after she issued an apology.
