World’s largest forest, Amazon rainforest had been burning for more than 17 days, leaving us with only 20% of the world’s oxygen. There have been 72,843 fires in Brazil this year and Amazon fires left the world concerned. Hollywood actor Leonardo Di Caprio who is also an environmentalist was the first one to raise the concern by sharing a lit picture of the Amazon forest. Many Hollywood and Bollywood celebs including Anushka Sharma, Akshay Kumar, Arjun Kapoor, Gigi Hadid, to name a few, came out in open and expressed their rage toward the same. However, the person who started the debate about climate change is partly responsible for the fire at Amazon, claims Brazil President Jair Bolsonaro.

According to the Hollywood Reporter facts, the Brazil President Jair Bolsonaro who does not offer any proper evidence blamed The Revenant actor for giving money to the environmental non-profit groups operating in Brazil to light up the Amazon forest. "DiCaprio is a cool guy, isn't he? Giving money to set the Amazon on fire," the president said to supporters in Brasilia.

It is reported that the actor and environmentalist said in a statement sent to The Associated Press saying that his group had not funded any of the two non-profits named by investigators. The online portal quoted the statement which read, “While worthy of support, we did not fund the organizations targeted. The future of these irreplaceable ecosystems is at stake and I am proud to stand with the groups protecting them."

Interestingly, the report also stated that this is not the first time where Brazil president has accused someone without any evidence. It has been before somewhere in August.
