Back in 2017, actor Kevin Spacey was accused of sexual assault by a string of men. Finally, after three years, Spacey opens up for the first time since sexual assault allegations and talks about how his world changed in just a matter of hours.
According to reports in dailymail.co.uk, actor Kevin Spacey spoke about how his job, many of his relationships and all were gone in a matter of hours and said that he could relate to the workers who have been laid off during the pandemic. During a podcast, Spacey said, “I don’t think it will come as a surprise for anyone to say that my world completely changed in the fall of 2017. My job, many of my relationships, my standing in my own industry were all gone in just a matter of hours.” The actor mentioned how the past three years of his life were painful and that his world completely changed.
When asked to reflect on the current COVID-19 pandemic causing widespread devastation, Spacey said, “I don’t often like to tell people that I can relate to their situation because I think it undermines the experience that they may be having which is their own unique and very personal experience.” The actor added that in this instance he feels that as though he can relate to what it feels like to have one’s world suddenly stop. Spacey said, “And so while we may have found ourselves in similar situations, albeit for very different reasons and circumstances” and added that although everything he still believes that some of the emotional struggles are very much the same as his.
For the unversed, actor Kevin Spacey was accused of sexual assault by a string of men after actor Anthony Rapp blamed Spacey of making sexual advances towards him in 1986 when he was 14-years-old. Soon later, due to the allegations made at the Seven star, streaming platform Netflix cut ties with Spacey, cancelling all his other projects.
