Jumanji: The Next Level star Kevin Hart hit the headlines back in September 2019 after his horrific car accident after which he suffered major back injuries. He had to undergo surgery and was discharged from the hospital after 10 days to recover in a rehab center. However, now, in a recent conversation, Kevin Hart has revealed that he lied about the extent of his injuries and covered up how serious they were since he did not want the hospital to stop him from letting him try to walk again.
Kevin Hart revealed this on the Joe Rogan Experience podcast and Metro.co.uk quoted him saying, “I lied in the hospital because I didn’t want them to know that I was having pain because I thought that they were gonna stop me from letting me continue to try my walks.” He said that he didn’t want to stop trying and on day seven in the hospital he was slowly walking and dragging with the help of a walker. Later after two and a half weeks, he started walking without his walker. “I should have had the walker. I’m giving the perception that it’s better than what it is, and I had the back brace on. I don’t want you to worry,” he said.
He said, “Not being able to wipe my a** changed everything,” and went on to credit his son, daughter, and wife for supporting him throughout his recovery. He further stated that it was an emotional moment for him after he returned home.
“My biggest cry in life came from the first day that I came home from the hospital because I never had to see that house again. Like there was an option of me never seeing that home again. There was an option of me never walking on that driveway again. There was an option of me never seeing my wife and my kids again,” he said. Kevin worked hard to recover and two months after his accident, the actor started posting workout videos on Instagram.
