Ellen DeGeneres and her talk show The Ellen Show recently made it to the headlines but for all the wrong reasons. Employees came out to complain about the toxic work culture and even slammed the host for it. Ellen then released a statement apologising and stated that she takes full responsibility for it. Now, it is singer Katy Perry who has come out in support of the host. The Roar singer recently took to her Twitter handle to send kisses and hugs to Ellen DeGeneres.
Katy tweeted, "I know I can’t speak for anyone else’s experience besides my own but I want to acknowledge that I have only ever had positive takeaways from my time with Ellen & on the @theellenshow. I think we all have witnessed the light & continual fight for equality that she has brought." Her next tweet read, "to the world through her platform for decades. Sending you love & a hug, friend @TheEllenShow."
Earlier, it was Ellen's wife Portia de Rossi who came out in her defense and made a social media post saying that she Stands with her partner.
In the emotional apology that the host sent it to her staff, Ellen DeGeneres wrote, “Hey everybody – it’s Ellen. On day one of our show, I told everyone in our first meeting that The Ellen DeGeneres Show would be a place of happiness – no one would ever raise their voice, and everyone would be treated with respect. Obviously, something changed, and I am disappointed to learn that this has not been the case. And for that, I am sorry. Anyone who knows me knows it’s the opposite of what I believe and what I hoped for our show. I could not have the success I’ve had without all of your contributions. My name is on the show and everything we do and I take responsibility for that," as reported by Variety. (Also Read:
