In 2018, an article published in The Sun claimed that Johnny Depp was a 'wife-beater', post which, the Pirates of The Carribean actor filed a case against the publication house. Since then there have been reports about Johnny Depp and ex-wife Amber Heard's bad behaviour towards each other. While the actress has claimed that she has been a victim of domestic violence at the hands of Johnny Depp, he has strongly denied it. In fact, he has presented proof trying to prove that it was Heard who was violent in nature. Now, in the summing up session, the lawyer of The Sun has called Johnny Depp 'misogynist' in nature.

In the closing argument, attorney Sasha Wass stated, "is one of truth -- namely that Mr. Depp did indeed beat his wife" and that “overwhelming evidence of domestic violence or wife-beating behavior, cataloged over a three-year period,” as reported by Hollywood Reporter. She also claimed that Johnny is a hopeless addict and that "Permeating all of the evidence in this case is the character of Mr. Depp himself -- his well-documented evidence of violence and destruction over his adult life which have occurred when he was under the influence of drink and drugs."

In the end, she said, "a deep misogyny … lay at the root of Mr. Depp’s anger.”  The attorney also spoke about Johnny Depp's mood swings and abnormal patterns of behaviour due to drug addiction. Johnny Depp's lawyer is going to sum up his defense argument today. However, the High Court judge is not expected to give out the ruling soon in this case.
