It was in the year 2017 that the world witnessed one of the most controversial divorces in the history of Hollywood. Yes, it's Johnny Depp and Amber Heard we are talking about. Johnny and Amber separated on quite a nasty note after they hurled a streak of accusations on each other.  While Amber accused the actor of being abusive throughout their relationship, the latter, too, made a couple of shocking revelations about Amber allegedly being violent. On Tuesday, Johnny lashed out at ex-wife Amber by alleging that she made 'sick' claims of abuse and falsely labelled him a monster.

As per Associated Press, it all happened during a UK libel case that focused on who was the aggressor in Johnny and Amber's toxic, violent courtship. Reportedly, Depp is legally suing British Tabloid The Sun’s publisher, News Group Newspapers, and its executive editor, Dan Wootton, over their April 2018 story, the controversial headline of which had read, “Potty – How can JK Rowling be ‘genuinely happy’ casting wife-beater Johnny Depp in the new Fantastic Beasts film?” In their defence, the tabloid is planning to use Amber's accusations of abuse against the actor for their 'wife beater' claim. Johnny, however, denies Amber's claims of assaulting her.

In his written witness statement, The Pirates of the Caribbean said, “These sick claims are totally untrue,” continuing that her allegations hurt his career and had “been a constant issue in my casting.”

The trial went on for a long time. While Johnny Depp put forth several accusations, some with proof, against Amber Heard. The latter is expected to give evidence in the next trial.
