DC film Joker, starring Joaquin Phoenix is one of the most anticipated Hollywood films of the year. There is much excitement among fans as this time around, the character of Joker will be hailed as the hero. The film, also starring Robert De Niro, had been in a controversy and was recently bashed for the amount of violence it showcases, with families of Aurora shootout victims raising concern. However, Warner Bros issued a statement and said that the film is not an endorsement of real-world violence of any kind.

Now with the release date of the film inching closer, the makers of the film have announced a change in its release date in India. The film, that was earlier set to release on October 4 has now been preponed and will release on October 2. On Wednesday, the official Twitter handle of Warner Bros India shared the news of the change in release date via a post that read, “#JokerMovie will now release in India on Wednesday, October 2nd, two days ahead of its initial scheduled release!” Now, with the film’s release date being brought forward, it will clash with Bollywood film War starring Tiger Shroff and Hrithik Roshan.

Joker will now release along with Hrithik Roshan-Tiger Shroff’s film War on a national holiday, Gandhi Jayanti and given the many fans of DC in India, it might affect the box office result of War. Joker has been directed by Todd Philips and co-produced by Phillips, Bradley Cooper, and Emma Tillinger Koskoff. Apart from Joaquin Phoenix, the movie also stars Robert De Niro, Zazie Beetz, and Frances Conroy and others.
