The actress was supposed to be making her spot in supporting actress category for the portrayal of Ramona on screen, but was left upset after being excluded from the list. When the film was being screened at various film festivals, JLo’s performance was ought to make it to Oscars was assured by the viewers. Hence, now opening up about it with Oprah Winfrey at Oprah’s 2020 Vision Tour, she revealed it all.
As per reports in The Hollywood reporter, the actress expressed of being extremely sad; despite all the praises she received for role, not being nominated thus leaving her upset. She was quoted saying, “I was sad, I was a little sad because there was a lot of buildup to it. There were so many articles, I got so many good notices — more than ever in my career — and there was a lot of 'She's going to get nominated for an Oscar, it's going to happen if it doesn’t you're crazy.'”
Keeping high hopes with this project, being excluded from the prestigious award ceremony, was like a letdown to her as well as her team.
However, looking back at 2019 and amazing happenings in her life, the diva braced herself up and felt proud about her accomplishments, “You just had the biggest opening of a movie in your career, you just walked the runway in Milan and had a fashion moment [in her iconic Versace dress], you’re doing the Super Bowl in a couple of weeks,” said JLo. speaking about her achievements.
