Sir Sean Connery, the first star to portray James Bond on the big screen, has passed away. He was 90. According to BBC, Sir Sean died last night in his sleep, while in the Bahamas. The report states that the actor was unwell for some time. 

The senior actor starred in seven Bond films, and in his career span of four decades, he won numerous prestigious awards including an Oscar, two Bafta awards and three Golden Globes. The Scottish actor shot to fame after he bagged his first role as 007 in the 1962 film Dr. No. He starred in every film from Dr. No to You Only Live Twice, as well as Diamonds Are Forever and Never Say Never Again.  He won an Oscar in 1988 for Best Supporting Actor for his role in The Untouchables. 



Sir Sean had celebrated his 90th birthday in August this year.
