The American sitcom How I Met Your Mother aired from 2005 to 2014. It was a bit hit. The series followed the main character Ted Mosby played by Josh Radnor and his group of friends in New York’s Manhattan. HIMYM revolves around Ted Mosby narrating the story of how he met the mother of his children. Now, the makers have announced a kick-off titled ‘How I Met Your Father’. The sequel of the sitcom will feature Hilary Duff in the lead.
According to a report in E! News, Hilary Duff will be playing the role of Sophie. She will be the new Ted Mosby in the series. The actress will be seen narrating how she met the father of her children. Hillary Duff will be producing the show as well. The show will see original creators Carter Bays and Craig Thomas coming back with Isaac Aptaker and Elizabeth Berger of shows This Is Us and Love. As per the report, How I Met Your Father has a straight-to-series order for 10 episodes at Hulu.
Hilary Duff spoke about her essaying the role of Sofie in How I Met Your Father. She said, “I've been incredibly lucky in my career to play some wonderful characters and I'm looking forward to taking on the role of Sophie.” The actress added, "As a huge fan of How I Met Your Mother, I'm honored and even a little nervous that Carter and Craig would trust me with the sequel of their baby. Isaac and Elizabeth are brilliant, and I can't wait to work alongside them and all of their genius.” The actress also shared a video. She made the announcement via Instagram. Take a look below:
