An African American man George Floyd passed away on Monday after a white police officer pinned him down and pressed his knee on his neck until he was unresponsive. Three other officers stood by and did not intervene, while George kept pleading them to stop and that he can’t breathe, until he eventually went limp. The video went viral on social media, and sparked protests. Floyd’s death has sparked a furore not just in the USA, but all over the world about the police treatment of African Americans. Now, Kim Kardashian, LeBron James, Diddy have also spoken up and demanded justice after the brutal killing of George Floyd.
LeBron James took to his Twitter and wrote, “Why Doesn’t America Love US!!!!!????TOO. #HeadHighandStayStrong #WeAllWeGot,” while American rapper Diddy tweeted, “This is not just a race issue this is a HUMAN RIGHTS ISSUE!!!!!!” Kim Kardashian stood in solidarity with the black community and tweeted seeking justice for George Floyd. She wrote, “For years, with every horrific murder of an innocent black man, woman, or child, I have always tried to find the right words to express my condolences and outrage. Even though I will never know the pain and suffering they have endured, or what it feels like to try to survive in a world plagued by systemic racism, I know I can use my own voice to help amplify those voices that have been muffled for too long.”
Kim Kardashian also shared a statement about the same on her Instagram, and mentioned that she is infuriated and disgusted. Take a look:
