Warner Bros Fantastic Beast 3 starring Mads Mikkelsen, Eddie Redmayne, and Jude Law among others has been already released. Based on J.K. Rowling's Harry Potter franchise, the film lands in trouble in China. Amidst the film's release, the Chinese market has requested the makers to censor the gay scene's from the film as China continues to ban gay references. Soon after the request, the makers agreed to remove the respective scenes from the film.

In an official statement, a spokesperson of Warner Bros said, “As a studio, we’re committed to safeguarding the integrity of every film we release, and that extends to circumstances that necessitate making nuanced cuts in order to respond sensitively to a variety of in-market factors. Our hope is to release our features worldwide as released by their creators but historically we have faced small edits made in local markets. In the case of Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore, a six-second cut was requested and Warner Bros. accepted those changes to comply with local requirements but the spirit of the film remains intact. We want audiences everywhere in the world to see and enjoy this film, and it’s important to us that Chinese audiences have the opportunity to experience it as well, even with these minor edits.”
Overall, the cut amount in the film was just 6 seconds out of 143 minutes of the run time. Back in 2007, the film's producer and co- screenplay writer J.K. Rowling had revealed that the character Dumbledore is gay. Since then, the film has indirectly addressed Dumbledore’s identity as a gay man, outraging LGBTQ fans who’ve craved to see themselves depicted in the Potter universe.

Despite the minor disputes in the film, Fantastic Beast 3 has managed to top the Chinese box office. The film earned $9.7 million on its opening weekend.
