Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson's father and WWE Hall of Famer Rocky ‘Soul Man’ Johnson, passed away on Wednesday, aged 75. The WWE organization had announced the news of his sad demise. Rocky Johnson played a huge role in training Dwayne Johnson. He had retired from the WWE in 1991 and focused on training his son Dwayne Johnson, who went on to become one of the most popular and biggest stars of WWE. Now, The Rock has shared an emotional tribute to his late father in a lengthy post on Instagram.
Dwayne Johnson took to his Instagram to share a video clip of his late father Rocky Johnson in the WWE ring. In his caption, The Rock wrote that he loves him, and that Rocky broke color barriers, and went on to become a ring legend. He called his dad his hero, saying that he would sit in the seats and watch him. He also wrote that with passing time, his adoration for his father turned to respect, and his empathy turned to gratitude. He listed all the things he is grateful for, and wrote that he wished he could tell him he loves him just one more time before he crossed over to the other side.
Dwayne Johnson wrote, “Dad, I wish I had one more shot to tell you, I love you, before you crossed over to the other side. But you were ripped away from me so fast without warning. Gone in an instant and no coming back. Im in pain. But we both know it’s just pain and it’ll pass. Now I’ll carry your mana and work ethic with me, as it’s time to move on because I have my family to feed and work to accomplish.”
Rocky Johnson is survived by three children- Dwayne Johnson, Curtis and Wanda Bowles.
