Demi Lovato is quite active on her social media handles and has recently been sharing pictures from her trip to Israel. The American pop star recently took a sponsored trip to Israel where she was baptized in the Jordan river. Sharing the picture on Instagram, she wrote in the caption how absolutely magical Israel was and that she has never felt such a sense of spirituality or connection to God and has been missing it for a few years now. Now Demi has apologized to her fans in an Instagram story according to a report in pagesix.com, which has since been deleted.
As per the report in pagesix.com, Demi wrote in her Instagram story,“I’m extremely frustrated. I accepted a free trip to Israel in exchange for a few posts. No one told me there would be anything wrong with going or that I could possibly be offending anyone. With that being said, I’m sorry if I’ve hurt or offended anyone, that was not my intention.” She further added that she didn’t know her trip would create such controversy and that was not her intention. After Demi posted those stories, several fans felt like it was an act of support towards Israel at a time when the country is in a state of conflict with Palestine.
Demi Lovato further wrote,“Sometimes people present you with opportunities and no one tells you the potential backlash you could face in return. This was meant to be a spiritual experience for me, NOT A POLITICAL STATEMENT and now I realize it hurt people and for that I’m sorry. Sorry I’m not more educated, and sorry for thinking this trip was just a spiritual experience.” ALSO READ: Bachelorette Star Mike Johnson Reveals Demi Lovato ‘Kisses Really Well’
