Christina Hendricks opened up about facing sexist behaviour during the Mad Men series days. The actress joined the series in 2007 and played the part of Joan Holloway, followed by which she became a household name and regular character in the series. During her conversation with The Guardian, she shared how she experienced sexist behaviour from the press despite being recognized for the role in the series. She stated that while audiences obsessed over men from the series, later they wanted to see female actors from the series in the magazines.

She said, "Men started dressing like Don Draper and Roger Sterling. Suits came back in, skinny ties came back in. It took three to four seasons and then all of a sudden people wanted us (the female stars) on magazines. We were like: ‘This is strange – we’ve been doing this for a while.'" Though they garnered attention, it came along with sexist behaviour from a certain section of the audience. Some of the people were keen to know about lingerie.

Christina added, "There certainly was a time when we were very critically acclaimed, and getting a lot of attention for our very good work and our very hard work, and everyone just wanted to ask me about my bra again. There are only two sentences to say about a bra."

Also amidst this, the creator of the show Matthew Weiner was in a tight spot during the #MeToo movement, but the actress mentioned that her rapport with him with not toxic, "My relationship with Matt was in no way toxic. I don't discount anyone's experience if I wasn't there to see it, but that wasn't my experience. Was he a perfectionist, was he tough, did he expect a lot? Yes. And he would say that in a second. We were hard on each other," said the actress. ALSO READ: When 12-Year-Old Meghan Markle Fought Sexism And Demanded To Change Sexist TV Commercial- VIDEO
