Music industry icons Beyoncé and Jay-Z opting to be seated while Demi Lovato crooned the national anthem at the Super Bowl LIV, invited for a lot of flak. Along with them their daughter, Blue Ivy too followed in their footsteps and remained seated according to TMZ. In a video clip shared by Demi’s fanpage on micro-blogging site Twitter, one can see rest of the people attending the event standing up for the national anthem while this trio chooses to remain seated.
Further the reports in Hollywoodlife.com stated, the music icon’s entertainment company having a say on which songs the artiste should perform at major events also including the recent Super Bowl event. As per reports in New York Times, Jay- Z also mentioned of this being done to support and educate people about social justice and doesn’t have any economic gain. “As long as real people are being hurt and marginalized and losing family members, then yes, I can take a couple rounds of negative press,” say Jay- Z.
