The Coronavirus pandemic has affected lakhs of lives and is also a reason for so many unfortunate deaths across the globe. Unfortunately, actress and author Patricia Bosworth has succumbed to the deadly virus. The actress, who has worked alongside Audrey Hepburn and later penned several biographies on stars like Marlon Brando and Montgomery Clift among others, passed away at the age of 86. Her stepdaughter Fia Hatsav, in a conversation with The New York Times, revealed that pneumonia that was brought on after COVID-19 is the reason her demise. Patricia breathed her last in NYC on Thursday.

For those unaware, Patricia Bosworth portrayed the role of a nun alongside Audrey Hepburn in the 1959 movie, The Nun’s Story. Apart from writing biographies on Brando and Montgomery, she also wrote about Jane Fonda and popular photographer Diane Arbus, who happened to click her in a Greyhound bus advertisement. It was under the guardianship of Lee Strasberg that Patricia studied acting at the Actors Studio with Marilyn Monroe, Paul Newman, Steve McQueen and Fonda. The actress has also been a part of shows like Naked City and The Patty Duke.

In her biography on Diane, Patricia called her “the most mysterious” of subjects that she came across. She wrote, “I modeled for her when I was eighteen. She’d be barefoot, and with her husband, Allan, would duck under the focusing cloth of their heavy eight-by-ten view camera and start whispering conspiratorially before they photographed me.”

In one of her books The Men in My Life, Patricia had written, “I had been raised privileged and spoiled rotten, a combination that gives you a weird perspective about life, as well as an unrealistic confidence and sense of entitlement. I just plunged into situations, experiences, adventures without ever considering the consequences.”

May her soul RIP!
